What to do

While in Alonissos there are plenty of activities that you can do the enrich your holiday and  experience the island.

Alonissos is perfect for hiking since it has one of the best network of paths which are sign posted and there are all kinds of levels of difficulty.

The map that our hotel provides shows the paths of the island as well as the beaches and local amenities.

Another great way to explore the island is to rent a car/scooter/quad or bicycle.

If you are keen in exploring the underwater life, you can go diving in the national marine park of Alonissos by choosing one of the four agencies that organise such trips

There are also excursions for those who would like to visit the surrounding islands, like the island of Kyra Panagia, in the heart of the marine park. Have a day out in the sea and treat yourselves to a 

wonderful experience, amazing views and also learn about its beautiful monastery wich was built on the 11th century and is still inhabited, visit the island of  Peristera and the blue cave

There are also excursions that take you to see the church of "Mama mia" in the nearby island of Skopelos

When it comes to the nightlife of the island, you can find bars and pubs in both Patitiri, wich is the main harbour, and the Old village where you can also listen to live music

Alonissos chalenge" marathon take place in the 1st week of june and the athletes that take part in it are from all over the world

There is also a traditional dance festival in the first week of july that lasts three days and in which dancers from all over Greece participate and dance in their traditional costumes

On the 15th of August the island celebrates the Assumption  of Mary which is one of most important celebrations for Greek people and there is a "panygiri"(a fiesta) up in the Old village, with traditional 

live music, the traditional and delicious dish of goat and pasta that the people here prepare for special days, there is wine and last but not least, dancing! The celebration starts at 7 pm and lasts until the 

break of dawn
